The Davies - Osprey Bay, Cape Range NP, WA

Emma George

One of our favourite places to go for an easy, family camp from our home in Exmouth is Osprey Bay, in the Cape Range National Park.  The campground has unpowered sights, large enough for tents, large caravans and all the toys you`ll want to take!  The views across the bay and out to the Ningaloo Reef are spectacular!

With easy access to the beach you can swim, snorkel, kayak, SUP, etc straight out to the reef.  You can also launch your tinny from the beach.  With a recent upgrade at the campsite there is now a footpath north, around to Sandy Bay, another beautiful spot.  Our kids love to take their bikes so they can ride around to Sandy Bay with their skim boards.  Mountain biking up the range is another favourite in the cooler months.

The campground has pit toilets which are well maintained by the camp hosts and there is a section for generator camping for those that need it.

A few kilometres out from the beach at Osprey, are two moorings which you can kayak out to. The moorings allow you to tie up, jump in and access incredible fish-filled bombies!

To book your site you can go to the Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPAW) website.

Osprey Bay is a wonderful, peaceful place to base yourself, whilst exploring the stunning coastline and ranges in the Cape Range NP, and it is an easy drive into Exmouth to get supplies!
